- Justin Sun revealed that Tron’s TRX now has a strong 0.37 correlation with Bitcoin, higher than with other major cryptos like Ethereum or USDT.
- Sun registered for Donald Trump’s private dinner by purchasing $14.32M worth of TRUMP coins, sparking rumors about other big investors like Michael Saylor.
- Back in 2019, Sun famously won a $4.5M charity auction to have lunch with Warren Buffett, bringing top crypto figures and gifting Buffett a phone loaded with BTC and TRX.
Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, jumped onto X (yeah, the old Twitter) to drop a pretty unexpected nugget about TRX — Tron’s homegrown crypto — and the OG of crypto itself, Bitcoin.
Turns out, there’s a stronger bond between TRX and BTC than most folks thought. And Justin’s not keeping it quiet either… he proudly shared it with everyone.
“TRX=BTC,” Says Sun
Sun pointed the crypto crowd toward a post by @0xKingsKuan — a Tron Foundation ambassador who’s sitting on a hefty 102K followers. This post, backed by some solid on-chain stats from IntoTheBlock, showed that Tron’s TRX is becoming seriously correlated with Bitcoin.
Apparently, TRX’s connection with Bitcoin is way tighter than with Ethereum, USDT, Dogecoin, Avalanche, or even Chainlink. The TRX-to-BTC correlation number? A notable 0.37. (For comparison, the next closest was AVAX sitting at just 0.16.) The rest? Yeah, some were actually negatively correlated. And all this data’s just from the past month, mind you.
@0xKingsKuan made it a point to say TRX isn’t just the Tron chain’s native token anymore. He mentioned how the Tron ecosystem’s been stretching its legs— from rolling out USDT on Tron to launching its very own stablecoin, USDD, plus SUN.io, the platform tied to Sun himself where new cryptos take flight.
Justin took all that info and boiled it down to a mic-drop moment: “TRX=BTC.” Short, punchy, no room for debate.
Sun and the “MSTR” Wallet Eye Trump’s Dinner Party
In a totally different twist this week — Donald Trump (yep, that Donald Trump) announced a private dinner shindig for heavy investors in his meme coin, aptly named TRUMP. And guess what? That alone sent TRUMP’s price flying over 50%.
On Friday, analytics account @lookonchain spilled the tea: Justin Sun snagged a seat at that dinner by buying a whopping 1,176,803 TRUMP tokens — about $14.32 million worth. His wallet ranks numero uno among the invitees. Right behind him (well, not right behind but 10th) is another wallet tagged “MSTR.” Now people are whispering… could that be Michael Saylor? Or maybe even his company, MicroStrategy? Who knows.
Flashback to 2019 — Sun had already pulled off a headline-grabber by winning a charity auction to have lunch with Warren Buffett, coughing up $4.5 million for the honor. He even dragged along big shots like Charlie Lee (Litecoin founder) and Yoni Assia (eToro CEO). CZ from Binance was supposed to join too, but couldn’t make it (Sun still tried, though). During that meet-up, Sun famously gifted Buffett a smartphone preloaded with Bitcoin and TRX.
