According to DefiLlama data, BSC now ranks second in monthly trading volume, hitting $84.3 billion—just behind Solana’s $105 billion. However, in the last 24 hours, BSC recorded a DEX volume of $1.637 billion, surpassing Solana’s $1.077 billion.

Over the past week, BSC’s DEX volume soared to $5.15 billion, while Solana lagged behind at $2.373 billion. Solana’s DEX volume recently hit a Year-To-Date low, putting SOL’s price under heavy selling pressure.

BSC Meme Coins Take the Lead

This past week, BSC has seen explosive meme coin activity, with tokens like MUBARAK (up 71%), BROCCOLI (market cap exceeding $101 million), and TST (which hit $500,000 in just a few hours) gaining traction. The influence of Binance co-founder CZ has played a key role in driving price action.

The Four.Meme platform has become a go-to launchpad for promising meme coins. In the last 24 hours alone, six tokens from Four.Meme have reached a market cap of over $1 million—far outpacing PumpFun on Solana, where only one token hit this milestone.

Previously, meme coins helped Solana dominate the DEX space, pushing weekly trading volume up to $56 billion in January 2025. However, PumpFun’s saturation and issues like spam bots have led to a decline in Solana’s trading volume.

Security Concerns and Shifting Sentiment

Four.Meme’s rapid rise has also raised security concerns. Recently, SlowMist identified a liquidity exploit vulnerability on Four.Meme, affecting token launches and liquidity pool security. This follows a February exploit that resulted in a $183,000 loss, underscoring ongoing security risks.

BSC’s overtaking of Solana signals a major shift in the DeFi space.
